Tuition in 3D Computer Graphics

1. From beginners through to commercial illustration.
1.1. People are assessed for their current experience. Training is designed based on this assessment and the courses modified to suit aptitude, interests, etc.
1.1.1. Acceptance by the studio of an applicant is at the sole discretion of the studio.
1.2. No prior knowledge of 3D Graphic or 2D Graphic software is needed.
1.3. Tuition is available to a limited number only.

2. Requirements: A portable computer with sufficient hard drive space of about 2 Gigabytes to load and process files plus a Windows operating system of Windows XP, Vista, Win7.
2.1. Linux and Apple Macs are not supported.

3. Software for a general 3D Computer Graphic application is provided at no cost.
3.1. Essentially hands-on introduction, familiarisation and confidence building with 3D static and animated modelling is the intended aim.
3.1.1 Many peripheral graphic industry issues will be touched on.
3.1.1.1. For example animation will eventually require output format data for TV, HDV, film, etc. Illustration for offset and digital print and websites will each need to be covered with regard to their specific requirements. Website programming will need to be covered to at least HTML Ver 4.0. Stereo 3D formatting will need to be addressed. Etc.
3.2. The general overview will be modified to suit indvidual interests.

4. Sessions are one to one and are of about one and a half hours each.
4.1. Sessions are two per week or by arrangement.
4.1.1. Exercises based on sessions will be left with people where useful.
4.2. As at April 2010, sessions are $65.00 payable per person per session.
4.2.1. Sessions of multiple students may be considered and the per person costing reduced somewhat and obviously the instruction ratio would not be one to one.

5. Tuition is held at Kaiwaka.
5.1. Tuition may be held elsewhere by arrangement however travel time and costs will need to be added to costings.

6. No recognised certification will be forthcoming from the tuition however the hands-on practical exercises are at the very least a significant introduction to the commercial graphic industry. However an "apprentice" type format can be targetted towards an individual gaining confidence and potentially employment either on their own account or within the industry studios.
6.1. Dimension Zero Studios is a working studio.

6.2. Neil Cooke is an Honours Graduate in Fine Arts Design with exhibtions, awards and extensive commercial graphic design experience from Freelance enterprise covering thirty plus years.

7. Fine art exhibition from the 3D Computer Graphic "pencil" remains obstructed by vested interest "traditional" media institutions, in much the same way that photography once did. For this artist however, there is no better medium.

Note: Exceptions to the above tuition criteria can be considered.
